Rivalries and Elemental Sprites: Fortnite Launches Chapter 7 Season 3 Runners
Epic Games did not wait for the dust to settle. Following the explosive "Shattered" live event that brought Chapter 7, Season 2 to a dramatic end, Fortnite officially launched Chapter 7, Season 3, titled Runners, on Saturday, June 6.
The new season is a high-octane overhaul of the map and core gameplay, designed to push players to their limits. With a heavy focus on speed, team rivalry, and elemental mechanics, this season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory.
The Rivalry System: Fight for Credit
The biggest addition to the gameplay loop is the Rivalry system. During matches, players earn points by completing in-game challenges, securing eliminations, and capturing key areas.
These points are converted into Rival Credits, which can be spent at new vendor terminals scattered across the island. These credits allow you to purchase high-tier weapon upgrades, utility perks, and powerful ammunition, turning matches into a constant economic scramble. If you cannot manage your credits, you will be outgunned in the final storm circles.

Sprites Return: Elemental Buffs and Firepower
Sprites, the tiny elemental helpers from Chapter 6, Season 1, are back with a vengeance. Players can discover and capture these creatures to secure passive buffs:
- Water Sprites: Accelerate shield regeneration.
- Earth Sprites: Boost player defense and building stability.
- Zero Point Sprites: Grant short-range dash capabilities.
- Fire Sprites: The headline addition, which directly buffs the raw firepower of your equipped weapons.
Alongside these core elements, Epic has introduced the mischievous Skully and Ducky Sprites, providing specialized utility buffs. Tracking down the right Sprite combinations will define the competitive meta.
Loot Pool and Battle Pass highlights
The loot pool has been refreshed with new weapons, most notably the Chaos Reloader Assault Rifle and a new variant of the Chaos Reloader Shotgun. These weapons reward precise timing, offering instant reloads if you trigger the mechanic correctly.

For cosmetics, the Runners Battle Pass is packed with high-energy designs:
- John Wick (Pen and Ink style): A stylized cel-shaded take on the iconic assassin.
- C3RB3RUS: A futuristic, robotic beast.
- Ninja Hope: A high-tech shinobi.
- Remixes: Remixed versions of Dr. Slone, PJ, and Quackling.
The season is scheduled to run until August 19, 2026. The track is ready, the lobby is loaded, and it is time to run.
