Square Enix is ready to finish what they started. During the Summer Game Fest showcase, the publisher officially unveiled Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final chapter of the highly ambitious remake trilogy. Slated for a Spring 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, this is the definitive conclusion to the saga.

This is the moment fans have been waiting for, and the stakes have never been higher.

Vincent and Cid Enter the Fray

The reveal trailer offered a major look at what is to come:

  • The Roster: Both Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind are finally fully playable combatants, each featuring their own custom combat styles and synergy attacks.
  • The Platforms: Moving away from timed exclusivity, Square Enix is launching day-and-date across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo's upcoming Switch successor.
  • Release Window: Scheduled for Spring 2027.

The Verdict: A Unified Release Strategy

It is about time. Keeping Remake and Rebirth locked to single platforms for months was a strategy that limited the reach of these incredible games.
