Sony is about to kick off the summer gaming season with a massive statement.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM PT, PlayStation is hosting a brand new State of Play. This is not one of those quick, fifteen-minute filler presentations that leaves you wishing you had your time back. We are looking at a 60 to 90-minute showcase broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch. Sony is even partnering with select Alamo Drafthouse locations across the United States to stream it on the big screen.

They are treating this like a major cinematic event, and the lineup of games is shaping up to justify the hype. Here is everything we know is coming, along with the wildest rumors that might just break the internet.

The Main Event: Marvel's Wolverine Out of the Shadows

Let's start with the only thing Sony has officially confirmed: Insomniac Games is bringing Marvel's Wolverine to the party.

We have been waiting for a real look at this game for what feels like an eternity. On June 2nd, the wait ends. Insomniac is set to deliver a deep-dive gameplay showcase, highlighting Wolverine's claws-out combat mechanics, traversal, and narrative structure.

With a rumored release date of September 15, 2026, this showcase needs to prove that Insomniac can do for Logan what they did for Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Expect blood, heavy hits, and a dark, gritty tone that pushes the limits of the PS5. If this gameplay does not leave you hyped, you might need to check your pulse.

God of War Spin-off: Faye Takes the Axe?

Now we enter the realm of rumors, and this is a massive one.

Rumors have been swirling that Santa Monica Studio is preparing to announce a new God of War project. Instead of a direct sequel to Ragnarok, the word on the street is a prequel or spin-off starring Kratos' wife, Faye.

Exploring her life, her rebellion against the Aesir, and her legendary combat prowess before meeting Kratos would be a brilliant way to expand the Norse lore.
